July 1 (Reuters) – Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Wednesday as fresh U.S.-Iran tensions cast doubt over peace in the Middle East, marking a cautious start to the second half of 2026.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 88.0 points, or 0.17%, at the open to 52,231.18. The S&P 500 fell 20.5 points, or 0.27%, at the open to 7,478.84, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 174.2 points, or 0.66%, to 26,039.507.
