By Thomson Reuters May 19, 2026 | 2:48 PM

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice was ordered to serve 30 days in jail after violating his probation with a positive test for ‌marijuana, multiple outlets reported on Tuesday.

Rice was booked Tuesday afternoon in Dallas County, Texas, and is due to be released on June ‌16. The timeline means he will miss organized team activities and a mandatory minicamp.

Kansas City’s KSHB 41 News broke the story and obtained a copy of the court documents, which show that Rice tested positive for THC.

The Chiefs have yet to comment.

Rice was on probation for his role in a street-racing crash that left multiple people injured on a Dallas highway in March ‌of 2024. He pleaded guilty last July to two third-degree felonies and was sentenced to five years of probation and deferred adjudication on a 30-day jail sentence.

The NFL suspended Rice for six games to start the 2025 ‌season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

Rice, 26, caught 53 ‌passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns in eight games last season. A second-round pick by the Chiefs in 2023, Rice has 156 receptions for 1,797 yards and 14 scores in 28 career games.
