Blue Jays reinstate OF Addison Barger from injured list

The Toronto Blue Jays reinstated Addison Barger from the 10-day injured list ​Saturday and optioned fellow ‌outfielder Yohendrick Pinango to Triple-A Buffalo.

Barger, 26, has not played since April 5 because of sprains ‌in ​both ankles. He ⁠was just 1-for-19 ⁠to open the season in eight games after hitting 21 homers with 74 RBIs ​in 135 games last season, then batting .367 with ⁠three home runs ⁠and nine RBIs in ​17 postseason games.

Barger was in ​the Toronto lineup, playing right ‌field and batting second, for Saturday’s home game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Since making ⁠his major league debut in 2024, Barger is a career .224 hitter ⁠with ‌28 home runs and ⁠104 RBIs in 212 ​games ‌for the Blue Jays.

Pinango, ​24, ⁠made his major league debut April 26 and was batting .423 with a double and four RBIs in 10 games.
