PARIS, May 18 (Reuters) – The 2028 Tour de France will start in Reims, organisers said ‌on Monday, with the Grand Depart returning to France after starts in Spain and ‌Britain in the previous two editions.

The 115th edition of cycling’s biggest race will begin on June 24, with the calendar adjusted because of the Los Angeles Olympics later that summer.

Reims, which previously hosted the Grand Depart in 1956, will stage the opening ‌stage as the peloton embarks on four days of racing through the Grand Est region in northeastern France.

The Tour will start abroad in ‌Barcelona in July before heading to Britain ‌in 2027.

The race started from Copenhagen in 2022, Bilbao in 2023, Florence in 2024 and Lille in 2025.
