China’s Huawei to launch two new AI chips in 2027

SHANGHAI, Sept 17 (Reuters) – Huawei Technologies will launch two new ​artificial-intelligence chips ‌in 2027, rotating chairman David Wang said on Thursday, as the ‌Chinese ​company expands ⁠its push ⁠into AI computing.

Huawei plans to launch the 960DT in the ​first quarter and the Ascend 960PR ⁠in ⁠the third quarter.

Wang ​said its UnifiedBus technology ​would be key to ‌Huawei’s next generation of large AI computing systems, helping ⁠connect large numbers of chips to work together. ⁠He ‌added that Huawei ⁠had shipped ​more ‌than 1,000 such ​systems to ⁠more than 370 customers.
