US House passes sanctions, tariff bill to raise economic pressure on Russia

WASHINGTON, Sept 16 (Reuters) – The U.S. House ​of Representatives ‌passed on Wednesday a sweeping sanctions ‌and ​tariff ⁠bill intended to ⁠increase economic pressure on Russia over its ​2022 invasion of ⁠Ukraine, ⁠nearly 1-1/2 ​years after the ​late U.S. Senator Lindsey ‌Graham, a South Carolina Republican, ⁠introduced it with dozens of other ⁠senators.

The ‌Republican-majority House ⁠voted 262 ​to ‌159 in ​favor of ⁠the bill.
