Trump announces new National Garden of American Heroes in Washington D.C

May 15 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday announced a ​new National Garden ‌of American Heroes in the District of Columbia to help mark the 250th ‌anniversary ​of the ⁠foundation of the ⁠United States in July.

* The garden will be located in West Potomac ​Park on the Potomac River, he ⁠said in ⁠a post on Truth ​Social

* Trump said the ​park would feature statues of ‌the country’s founding fathers, military warriors, religious leaders, civil rights ⁠champions, athletes, artists and entertainers

* As part of the celebrations ⁠to ‌mark the founding ⁠of the United ​States ‌in 1776, Trump ​is also ⁠pushing for the creation of a 250-foot (76-meter) “Triumphal Arch” in Washington
