Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant’s ailing left elbow will be re-evaluated in three weeks, the team announced Saturday.

Morant returned to ‍play last Sunday after missing six games with a calf injury. He was the leading scorer for the Grizzlies in their 126-109 victory over the Orlando Magic in London, tallying 24 points and ‌13 assists.

He added 23 points ‌and 12 assists on Wednesday in the Grizzlies’ two-point loss to the Atlanta Hawks but missed their Friday night 133-127 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans with what the team said was a sprained ulnar collateral ligament.

The team said the ‍injury occurred in the Atlanta game but that Morant is “expected to make a full recovery.”

Morant, 26, is a two-time ‍All-Star but has been the subject of trade rumors of late. With the Grizzlies’ timeline, Morant will not return before the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline.

The Grizzlies selected Morant with ‍the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He has appeared in just 20 of the ‍team’s 43 ‍games this season, averaging 19.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 8.1 rebounds.

In 327 career games (325 starts), Morant has averages ‌of 22.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game.

The Grizzlies are 18-25 and in 12th place in the Western Conference.

Morant is playing on a five-year, $197.2 million contract that expires after the 2027-28 season.
