Aug 28 (Field Level Media) – The Colorado Rapids traded forward Dante Sealy back to CF Montreal on Friday in exchange for up to $1.7 million in general allocation money.
The Rapids will receive $400,000 in 2026 and $1 million in 2027, plus up to an additional $300,000 in conditional funds if certain performance metrics are met.
Since joining Colorado from Montreal ahead of the 2026 season, Sealy recorded one goal and six assists in 23 matches across all competitions.
“We want to thank Dante for his time with the club and wish him the best going forward in his career,” Rapids president Padraig Smith said.
Sealy, 23, has recorded 11 goals and eight assists in 88 career MLS regular- season matches (54 starts) with FC Dallas (2020-24), Montreal (2025) and Colorado.
“Dante is familiar with our environment, our culture and many of our group members, which will facilitate his integration and allow him to contribute quickly to our goals,” Montreal executive Luca Saputo said. “Beyond his attachment to the club and his desire to return to defend our colors, we are convinced that he will bring real added value to our team, both on the pitch and in the dressing room.”
