US Senate votes to advance Trump nominee Clayton to be top US spy

WASHINGTON, July 27 (Reuters) – The ​U.S. ‌Senate voted by 51 to ‌43 ​on ⁠Monday ⁠to advance the nomination of ​Jay Clayton, ⁠President ⁠Donald Trump’s ​pick to ​be director ‌of national intelligence, paving ⁠the way for his ⁠confirmation ‌as ⁠soon ​as ‌later this ​week.
