Two earthquakes strike China’s Qinghai province

BEIJING, July 28 (Reuters) – A magnitude 5.7 earthquake ​struck ‌Xinghai county in the northwestern Chinese province of ‌Qinghai ​on ⁠Tuesday at 11:16 ⁠a.m. (0316 UTC), the China Earthquake Networks Centre ​said.

A second magnitude 5.8 ⁠earthquake ⁠struck the county ​18 minutes later, ​according to CENC.

Both ‌quakes had a focal depth of ⁠10 km (6.2 miles) and were located about ⁠244 ‌km from ⁠Xining, the ​capital ‌of Qinghai.
