BEIJING, July 28 (Reuters) – A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Xinghai county in the northwestern Chinese province of Qinghai on Tuesday at 11:16 a.m. (0316 UTC), the China Earthquake Networks Centre said.
A second magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the county 18 minutes later, according to CENC.
Both quakes had a focal depth of 10 km (6.2 miles) and were located about 244 km from Xining, the capital of Qinghai.
