WASHINGTON, June 25 (Reuters) – U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson said on Thursday he will ‌transmit the housing bill to the White House following his meeting with U.S. President ‌Donald Trump, an Axios reporter said in a post on X.

Johnson’s comments come after Trump on Wednesday canceled a planned signing of the bipartisan legislation aimed at speeding up the construction and availability of more affordable housing in an effort to pressure lawmakers ‌to enact the SAVE America Act.

A source briefed on the matter earlier on Thursday told Reuters that Trump and Johnson were expected to have ‌a conversation related to a pathway for the ‌SAVE America Act and also rescheduling the signing ceremony for the housing bill.
