Lazard taps BofA veteran Burton-Morgan for new ECM advisory role, source says

May 27 (Reuters) – Investment bank Lazard has hired industry veteran Daniel Burton-Morgan to lead a newly created advisory ​role, a source familiar with the ‌matter said on Wednesday.

The details of the move are below:

• Burton-Morgan will be the head of equity capital markets advisory in North America, ‌the ​source said

• He moves ⁠from Bank of ⁠America, where he led the ECM Americas financial sponsor origination

• Lazard did not immediately respond to a Reuters request, while ​Bank of America declined to comment

• Burton-Morgan will report to Tim Donahue, ⁠co-head of North America ⁠financial advisory and global head ​of capital solutions, according to the source

• ​The hire strengthens Lazard’s ECM advisory franchise, ‌which has operations in Paris and London, the source added

• The move is part of the “Lazard 2030” strategy to ⁠expand the firm’s managing director ranks, the person said

• The hire underscores Lazard’s push to recruit ⁠senior ‌talent across both core industry ⁠sectors and emerging growth areas

• It ​hired ‌former Western Midstream Partners CEO ​Michael Ure ⁠as a senior adviser in its power, energy and infrastructure group earlier this month
