Two Japanese, one Chinese national injured in Shanghai knife attack, China’s foreign ministry says

BEIJING, May 20 (Reuters) – Two Japanese nationals ​and a ‌Chinese national were injured in a knife ‌attack “by ​a ⁠person with a ⁠mental disorder” at a restaurant in Shanghai ​on Tuesday, a ⁠Chinese foreign ⁠ministry spokesperson ​said on ​Wednesday.

“The injured were promptly ‌taken to hospital for treatment, and ⁠the suspect has been apprehended by ⁠police,” ‌ministry ⁠spokesperson Guo ​Jiakun ‌said during a ​regular ⁠press conference.
