Chicago Sky forward Rickea Jackson will miss the remainder of the season after an MRI revealed a torn ACL in her left knee, the team ‌announced on Tuesday.

Jackson sustained the injury in Chicago’s 86-79 victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. She scored six points in 11 minutes before being ‌injured.

“We’re devastated that Rickea suffered this injury, but we are confident she will make a full recovery,” Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a statement. “Rickea was playing at an All-Star and All-Defensive level early in the season. We are certain she was primed for a career year.

“Our world-class medical staff will work hard with Rickea, who is one of the toughest players in the league, to get ‌her back on the court.”

Jackson is averaging 18.0 points and 4.8 rebounds in four games (all starts) this season, her first with the Sky. Chicago acquired Jackson from the Los Angeles Sparks last month for two-time All-Star guard Ariel Atkins.

Jackson, 25, ‌was the No. 4 overall selection in the 2024 WNBA Draft and ‌averaged 14.0 points and 3.6 rebounds in 78 games (72 starts) over her two seasons with Los Angeles.

The addition of Jackson was to help fill the hole created when the Sky traded Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream.
