Magnitude 6.3 earthquake hits northern Japan, no tsunami warning issued

TOKYO, May 15 (Reuters) – An earthquake ​with ‌a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 ‌hit ​northern ⁠Japan on ⁠Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The ​epicentre of ⁠the ⁠earthquake was ​off the ​coast of Miyagi ‌prefecture at the depth ⁠of 50 kilometres, the agency ⁠said, adding ‌that ⁠no ​tsunami ‌warning had ​been issued.
