Five-star junior center Isaiah Hill committed to Purdue’s 2027 recruiting class on Friday.

The 7-footer from Indianapolis is ranked No. 13 nationally by ‌the 247 Sports composite. He chose the Boilermakers over Louisville and Florida State.

“Purdue has been recruiting me since the eighth grade. [Assistant] coach PJ ‌Thompson and then head coach Matt Painter saw something in me. I am thankful for them,” Hill told ESPN. “The people at the school, the coaches are very supportive on and off the court. Purdue is a great school academically.”

Painter has helped to develop several true centers at Purdue, most recently the 7-foot-4 Zach Edey. Edey was a two-time national Player of the ‌Year who was drafted ninth overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2024.

“Matt Painter keeps it real,” Hill told ESPN. “He is a hard worker who coaches to win. Off the court he can be a funny guy, ‌but you wouldn’t know it. His plan is to help me ‌develop, as I help the team win and give me a chance at the NBA.”

Hill averaged 12.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.6 blocks per game as a junior at Pike High School in Indianapolis.
