Japan March factory output unexpectedly falls 0.5% month-on-month

TOKYO, April 30 (Reuters) – Japan’s factory output ​unexpectedly fell ‌0.5% in March from the previous ‌month ​versus ⁠the median market ⁠forecast for a 1.1% gain, hit by ​shrinking output in ⁠chemical ⁠and petroleum ​products, government data ​showed on Thursday.

Manufacturers ‌surveyed by the Ministry of ⁠Economy, Trade and Industry expect seasonally ⁠adjusted ‌output to ⁠rise 2.1% ​in ‌April and ​increase 2.2% ⁠in May.
