Yankees sign versatile Amed Rosario on 1-year deal

The New York Yankees signed utility player Amed Rosario ‍to a one-year contract for 2026, with The Athletic reporting the deal is ‌worth $2.5 million.

Rosario, 30, ‌joined the Yankees after a July trade from the Washington Nationals and batted .303 ​with one home run and ‍five RBIs ​in 16 games.

After ​breaking in with ‍the New York Mets in 2017, Rosario is a career .273 hitter with 69 ‍home runs and 389 RBIs in 1,004 games with ‍seven ‍different clubs. ​On defense, Rosario ​has ⁠played at all ‌but catcher and first base, even pitching one inning last season for the Nationals.
