WASHINGTON, Nov 3 (Reuters) – Democrat Bob Brooks defeated ‌US Representative Ryan Mackenzie of Pennsylvania on Tuesday, according to ‌US media, flipping a Republican-held seat in a presidential battleground state.

Brooks is the president of a Pennsylvania firefighters union.

The seat is one of four Republican-held Pennsylvania districts that Democrats sought ‌to flip this cycle. President Donald Trump carried Mackenzie’s district by 3 percentage points in 2024.

Nationally, Democrats ‌need to net four seats ‌to win control of the US House of Representatives.
