General Dynamics taps insider Danny Deep as next CEO

Oct 7 (Reuters) – General Dynamics on Wednesday said President Danny Deep would take ​over as CEO in ‌January, succeeding longtime chief executive Phebe Novakovic.

The leadership transition comes at a time of sustained ‌demand ​for the company’s ⁠defense and aerospace ⁠products, which range from Gulfstream jets and submarines to combat vehicles and IT services.

• Deep held senior leadership roles ⁠across General ⁠Dynamics’ land systems, combat ​systems and global operations businesses ​before being named president in ‌2025

• Novakovic, who will become executive chairman, has been General Dynamics’ CEO since 2013, ⁠steering the company through a decade of growth and rising global ⁠defense ‌spending

• The defense contractor ⁠reported profit of $4.24 ​per ‌share for the quarter ​ended July ⁠5, above analysts’ estimate of $3.97, according to data compiled by LSEG
