China’s January-August fiscal revenue up 5.7% year-on-year

BEIJING, Sept 18 (Reuters) – China’s fiscal revenue rose 5.7% ​in the ‌first eight months of 2026 from a year earlier, ‌finance ​ministry data ⁠showed Friday, ⁠slightly down from a 5.8% growth in the January-July ​period.

Fiscal expenditure grew 1.2% year-on-yea ⁠over the ⁠January-August period, ​compared with a 1.3% ​increase in the ‌first seven months.

Last month, China’s Vice Finance Minister ⁠Liao Min said authorities were preparing new fiscal-financial ⁠support ‌measures to ⁠roll out ​in ‌the second half ​of this ⁠year and Beijing will refine its policy toolkit as economic conditions ​evolve.
