Orioles put RHP Kyle Bradish on IL, likely ending his season

Sep 13 (Field Level Media) – Baltimore right-hander Kyle Bradish could miss the rest of ​the season after the Orioles ‌placed him on the 15-day injured list Sunday with lower abdominal discomfort.

The Orioles recalled right-hander Yaramil Hiraldo from Triple-A Norfolk to ‌fill ​Bradish’s roster spot.

Bradish, 30, ⁠who signed a ⁠five-year, $90 million contract extension in July, is 7-14 with a 4.12 ERA in 29 starts this season. Of ​late, he has given up five earned runs or more in ⁠three of his last ⁠nine starts and has failed ​to pitch five innings five times in ​that span.

Drafted by the Los Angeles ‌Angels in the fourth round in 2018 and acquired by the Orioles in 2019, Bradish debuted in 2022 ⁠and is 26-29 in 96 starts with a 3.67 ERA over 512 2/3 innings. ⁠He underwent ‌Tommy John surgery in ⁠June 2024 and made just ​six ‌starts last season.

Hiraldo, 30, is ​1-0 with ⁠a 5.87 ERA in seven relief appearances this season after posting a 4.58 ERA in 18 relief outings last season, his first in the majors.
