Sep 13 (Field Level Media) – Baltimore right-hander Kyle Bradish could miss the rest of the season after the Orioles placed him on the 15-day injured list Sunday with lower abdominal discomfort.
The Orioles recalled right-hander Yaramil Hiraldo from Triple-A Norfolk to fill Bradish’s roster spot.
Bradish, 30, who signed a five-year, $90 million contract extension in July, is 7-14 with a 4.12 ERA in 29 starts this season. Of late, he has given up five earned runs or more in three of his last nine starts and has failed to pitch five innings five times in that span.
Drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the fourth round in 2018 and acquired by the Orioles in 2019, Bradish debuted in 2022 and is 26-29 in 96 starts with a 3.67 ERA over 512 2/3 innings. He underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2024 and made just six starts last season.
Hiraldo, 30, is 1-0 with a 5.87 ERA in seven relief appearances this season after posting a 4.58 ERA in 18 relief outings last season, his first in the majors.
