Sep 08 (Field Level Media) – Boston Bruins forward Fraser Minten signed a seven-year contract extension worth $50.4 million on Tuesday.
The extension spans through the 2033-34 season for Minten, who could have been a restricted free agent after this season.
“We are excited to have signed Fraser to a long-term extension,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said. “Since joining our organization, Fraser has continued to grow and earn the accelerated trust of his teammates and coaching staff. His hockey sense, competitiveness, responsible two-way game, and offensive growth make him a valuable player for our group.
“This is a mutual long-term commitment that reflects our confidence in Fraser and the important role he will play, as well as Fraser’s belief in our team moving forward.”
Minten, 22, set career highs in goals (17), assists (18) and points (35) while playing in all 82 games last season. The 6-foot-2, 204-pound forward also led all NHL rookie skaters in plus/minus (plus-21).
Minten has totaled 40 points (20 goals, 20 assists) and a plus-16 rating in 107 career games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Bruins. He was acquired by Boston from Toronto in March 2025 in a deal that included defenseman Brandon Carlo.
Minten was selected by the Maple Leafs in the second round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
