Lula, Flavio Bolsonaro tied in Brazil’s election runoff, Quaest poll shows

SAO PAULO, Sept 7 (Reuters) – Brazilian leftist President Luiz Inacio ​Lula da ‌Silva and right-wing challenger Senator Flavio Bolsonaro are tied in a ‌potential ​second-round runoff ⁠in October’s election, ⁠a Quaest poll commissioned by Globo showed on Monday.

In a ​simulated runoff, Lula would win ⁠41% of ⁠the vote against ​41% for the ​eldest son of former President ‌Jair Bolsonaro. A Quaest poll released on September ⁠2 had Lula leading Bolsonaro 42% to 41%.

Quaest surveyed ⁠2,004 ‌people between ⁠September 3-6. The ​poll ‌has a margin ​of error ⁠of 2 percentage points.
