Mariners activate RHP Cooper Criswell from 60-day IL

Aug 31 (Field Level Media) – The Seattle Mariners activated right-hander Cooper Criswell from the 60-day injured ​list Monday.

Criswell, 30, had been on ‌the IL since June 9 with a right shoulder strain. He made three rehab appearances with Triple-A Tacoma, pitching 2 2/3 innings. He has appeared ‌in ​26 games this season, ⁠his first with Seattle, ⁠going 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA, 23 strikeouts, eight walks and one save.

Criswell has appeared in parts of five seasons ​with the Angels (2021), Rays (2022-23), Red Sox (2024-25) and Mariners (2026), going a combined 10-8 with ⁠a 4.32 ERA and ⁠two saves over 71 career appearances (21 ​starts).

Additionally, the Mariners placed right-hander Nick Davila on ​the 15-day IL with an SC ‌joint sprain and transferred infielder Colt Emerson to the 60-day injured list with a left wrist tendon injury.

Davila, 27, pitched an ⁠inning in Sunday’s series finale against the Blue Jays. In 24 relief appearances for Seattle this season — ⁠his first ‌in the majors — he is ⁠0-0 with a 4.94 ERA ​and ‌one save.

Emerson, 21, who entered the ​season No. ⁠1 on the Mariners’ prospect list, per MLB Pipeline, underwent wrist surgery Wednesday. Debuting on May 17, he batted .190 with eight home runs and 23 RBIs in 69 games.
