Fever-Sky most-watched regular-season game since 1997

Aug 26 (Field Level Media) – The Indiana Fever’s clash with the ​host Chicago Sky on ‌Sunday averaged 3.31 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, making it the WNBA’s most-watched regular- season game ‌since ​the league’s inaugural ⁠season in 1997.

It ⁠was also the third most-watched regular-season game in league history.

The New York Liberty-Los Angeles Sparks ​season-opening game on June 21, 1997, averaged 5.04 million ⁠viewers. The Charlotte ⁠Sting and Phoenix Mercury ​tipped off the following day, ​with 3.59 million viewers tuning in. ‌Those games were also broadcast on NBC.

Caitlin Clark sank a career-best eight 3-pointers to ⁠highlight a 37-point performance in the Fever’s 113-90 victory.

The teams were meeting ⁠for ‌the first time since ⁠Indiana’s Sophie Cunningham was ​fouled ‌on a breakaway by ​Chicago’s DiJonai ⁠Carrington during a game on Aug. 8. Carrington was ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul in the Fever’s 90-86 win.
