Mariners land OF Taylor Ward from Orioles

The Seattle Mariners acquired outfielder Taylor Ward from the Baltimore Orioles on Monday in exchange ​for three pitchers.

Right-handers Alex Hoppe, ‌Brock Moore and Harrison Kreiling are headed to the Orioles in the trade deadline deal.

Ward, 32, leads the American League ‌with ​87 walks and is ⁠batting .246 with seven ⁠homers and 30 RBIs in 111 games.

Baltimore acquired Ward in a trade last November that sent right-hander ​Grayson Rodriguez to the Los Angeles Angels.

Ward is a lifetime .247 hitter ⁠with 120 home runs ⁠and 375 RBIs in ​815 games with the Angels (2018-25) and Orioles.

Hoppe, ​27, made his major league debut ‌in April and is 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA in 24 appearances out of the Seattle bullpen.

Moore, ⁠26, has not reached the big leagues. He is 4-5 with four saves and ⁠a ‌3.72 ERA in 31 games (no ⁠starts) between High-A Everett ​and ‌Double-A Arkansas this season.

Kreiling, 24, ​also has ⁠not reached the majors. He has no decisions and a 1.69 ERA in four starts this season between rookie ball and Class-A Inland Empire.
