BUDAPEST, Aug 3 (Reuters) – Hungary’s seasonally-adjusted Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) edged down to 51.4 in July from a revised 51.6 in June, the index publisher said on Monday.
The July figure fell short of a long-term monthly average of 52.6 but was higher than an average 48.9 July reading in the past three years, the Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management said.
“Survey respondents in July reported a slower expansion of the manufacturing industry compared with the previous month,” the index publisher said in a statement.
The index of new orders was lower but still showed expansion. The production volume index edged up from the previous month.
The 50-point mark separates contraction from growth.
The index for purchase prices was lower and continued to show an intense rise in prices, the publisher said.
The employment index was higher and showed expansion, while the export and import indicators both showed expansion.
