Report: Tigers to promote top prospect Max Clark

The Detroit Tigers are promoting outfielder Max Clark, their top-ranked prospect, for ​Friday’s series opener ‌against the host Athletics in West Sacramento, Calif., MLB.com reported Thursday.

Clark, 21, is ranked No. ‌1 ​in the Tigers’ ⁠farm system and ⁠No. 13 among all major league prospects by MLB Pipeline.

The No. 3 overall ​pick in the 2023 draft is batting .276 with ⁠11 homers, 42 ⁠RBIs and 21 ​stolen bases in 90 games ​this season at Triple-A Toledo.

Clark ‌has been tearing it up in July, batting .338 with a 1.086 OPS and ⁠five home runs through 19 games.

Through four seasons in the minors, ⁠the ‌center fielder has ⁠slashed .272/.383/.425 with 36 home ​runs, ‌203 RBIs and 74 ​steals ⁠in 331 games.

Detroit will need to make room on its 26- and 40-man rosters to complete the transaction.
