TOKYO, July 30 (Reuters) – Toyota Motor said on Thursday its global first-half production and sales ‌fell for the first time in two years, as weaker demand in China and ‌a model changeover for its popular RAV4 sport utility vehicle weighed on results.

• Global sales for January-June dropped 2.9% year-on-year to just over 5 million vehicles, as a 17.1% decline in China offset stronger demand in North America and Japan.

• Global ‌vehicle production shrank 1.2% year-on-year to under 4.9 million vehicles over the first six months of the year.

• For June, global sales edged ‌0.1% higher to 868,454 vehicles and production was ‌up 2.9% at 879,321 cars.

• Toyota’s figures include sales and production at its luxury brand Lexus.
