Peru’s Sanchez concedes election days after Fujimori declared winner

LIMA, July 6 (Reuters) – Peruvian leftist presidential ​candidate Roberto ‌Sanchez conceded the election to conservative Keiko ‌Fujimori ​on ⁠Monday, days ⁠after electoral authorities declared her the winner.

Sanchez ​and his party ⁠said on ⁠Monday in ​a statement ​they “recognized that the National ‌Elections Board had officially proclaimed ⁠the electoral results.” The final tally ⁠gave ‌Fujimori 50.135% ⁠of the ​vote ‌in the ​June 7 ⁠runoff.
