After trade, Rangers sign F Pavel Dorofeyev to 7-year, $77M deal

The New York Rangers locked up new forward Pavel Dorofeyev with a ​seven-year contract worth $77 ‌million on Tuesday.

The Rangers acquired the Russian from the Vegas Golden Knights for three draft ‌picks ​last Friday as ⁠the 2026 NHL ⁠Draft was getting underway. The Golden Knights received the Nos. 26 and 92 ​overall picks in the first and third rounds, ⁠respectively, of ⁠the 2026 draft and ​a conditional first-rounder in 2028.

After ​trading for a goal-scorer entering ‌his prime, the Rangers paid Dorofeyev like one.

Dorofeyev set career highs in ⁠goals (37), assists (27) and points (64) while playing all 82 games for Vegas ⁠in ‌2025-26. The winger added ⁠12 goals and ​four ‌assists across 22 playoff ​games.

Through 231 ⁠career games in parts of five seasons with Vegas, Dorofeyev has amassed 149 points (92 goals, 57 assists).
