Rangers put OF Wyatt Langford on IL, activate OF Evan Carter

The Texas Rangers placed outfielder Wyatt Langford on the 10-day injured list Sunday ​with a left hamstring ‌strain and activated outfielder Evan Carter after a short turn on the IL because of an ‌oblique ​strain.

Langford was a ⁠late scratch for ⁠Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

A former No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 ​draft, the 24-year-old Langford is batting .278 with eight ⁠home runs and ⁠20 RBIs. He had ​been limited to 40 games after ​missing six weeks earlier this ‌season with a right forearm strain.

Langford is a career .251 hitter with 46 home runs ⁠and 156 RBIs in 308 games over three seasons with Texas.

Carter, 23, ⁠is ‌batting .176 with six home ⁠runs and 21 RBI ​in ‌66 games this season. ​He ⁠is a career .216 hitter with 21 home runs and 73 RBIs in 197 games over four seasons with the Rangers.
