Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams will sign a fully guaranteed three-year, $38 million contract to stay ‌with the team, ESPN reported Thursday.

Williams was a restricted free agent entering this offseason after ‌four seasons in the NBA. The Charlotte Hornets drafted him 15th overall out of Duke in 2022, and after three seasons there Williams was dealt to Phoenix last summer.

Williams, 24, became the Suns’ starting center and averaged 11.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game ‌over 60 games (55 starts). He shot 64.4% from the field.

Across 166 games (132 starts) for the Hornets and Suns, Williams has averaged 12.0 points, 8.5 ‌rebounds and 1.0 block per contest while shooting ‌62.9% overall.

His new contract follows those Phoenix gave to guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin in recent days to retain a young core.
