The New York Mets placed second baseman Marcus Semien on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left hip flexor strain.

Semien played in both games of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs ‌and committed two of the team’s six errors in the second contest.

The Mets lost the first game, 10-3, and dropped the second by a score of 10-5.

In a corresponding move, infielder Ronny Mauricio ‌was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse. He was activated from the IL on Wednesday and assigned to Syracuse.

Semien, 35, is batting .214 with nine home runs and 29 RBIs in 80 games this season. He was acquired in an offseason trade that sent outfielder Brandon Nimmo to the Texas Rangers.

Mauricio, 25, has played 10 games with the major league club this season, posting a .219 average with one home run and two RBIs.

The Mets have a lengthy list of sidelined position players.

Superstar outfielder Juan Soto is day to day ‌after exiting Tuesday’s game with lower back tightness.

Tyrone Taylor has been on the IL since May 26 with a right hip flexor strain, and fellow outfielder Luis Robert Jr. has been on the 60-day injured list since April 30 with lumbar spine disc herniation.

In addition, infielder Jorge Polanco was transferred to the ‌60-day IL on June 15 due to left Achilles bursitis.

In better news for the struggling ‌Mets (34-46), star shortstop Francisco Lindor was activated on Wednesday after recovering from a strained left calf sustained on April 22. He played in Game 2 of the doubleheader.

In other moves on Thursday, Daniel Duarte was recalled from Syracuse and fellow righty Jonathan Pintaro was optioned to the Triple-A club.
