Renault seeks to cut 800 jobs in engineering in France

PARIS, June 24 (Reuters) – Renault is considering cutting ​800 jobs ‌in its engineering department in France by the end ‌of ​2027, ⁠the company’s human ⁠resources chief for the country said on Wednesday.

The ​company expects to reduce ⁠its payroll, ⁠which totals ​5,500 staff, through ​voluntary redundancies, Maximilien Fleury ‌told reporters.

The job cuts are in line ⁠with the company’s efforts to be better ⁠able ‌to compete ⁠with Chinese ​competition, ‌Chief Technology Officer ​Philippe ⁠Brunet added.
