South Africa’s DA leader asks President Ramaphosa for cabinet changes

JOHANNESBURG, June 17 (Reuters) – South Africa’s Democratic ​Alliance leader ‌Geordin Hill-Lewis has asked President Cyril Ramaphosa for ‌changes ​to ⁠his party’s ⁠representatives in the cabinet, the second-biggest party in ​the governing coalition ⁠said on ⁠Wednesday.

Among the ​changes, Hill-Lewis ​asked Ramaphosa to remove ‌his predecessor as party leader, John ⁠Steenhuisen, as agriculture minister, and make ⁠him ‌deputy trade ⁠minister instead, ​the ‌DA said ​in a ⁠statement.
