S&P 500, Dow tick lower on Middle East stalemate

June 3 (Reuters) – The S&P 500 and the ​Dow opened ‌lower on Wednesday, as a flare-up in the Middle ‌East ​conflict ⁠drove oil ⁠prices higher and cast doubt on a quick resolution ​to the war.

The Dow ⁠Jones ⁠Industrial Average fell ​86.9 points, or ​0.17%, at the ‌open to 51,220.92. The S&P 500 fell ⁠4.5 points, or 0.06%, at the open ⁠to ‌7,605.31, while ⁠the Nasdaq ​Composite ‌dropped 1.1 points, ​to 27,092.845 ⁠at the opening bell.
