Matt Able withdraws from draft, transfers to North Carolina

Guard Matt Able pulled out of the 2026 NBA Draft ​and will ‌play for North Carolina this season, he told ESPN on Tuesday.

“I’ve decided ‌to ​withdraw my ⁠name from the ⁠2026 NBA Draft and continue my development at the University of ​North Carolina at Chapel Hill,” Able ⁠said, per ⁠ESPN. “Grateful for the ​feedback I received throughout ​this process and excited to ‌be part of the Tar Heel family.”

The deadline for the ⁠decision was Wednesday.

Listed at 6-foot-6, Able averaged 8.8 points ⁠and ‌3.4 rebounds in ⁠34 games ​off ‌the bench for North ​Carolina ⁠State in 2025-26. He shot 41.6% from the floor and 35.5% from 3-point range.
