Cards, Reds to play Saturday doubleheader after postponement

Friday’s scheduled series opener between the St. Louis Cardinals and Reds in Cincinnati was ​postponed due to inclement ‌weather in the forecast.

The game is scheduled to be made up Saturday as part of a split-doubleheader. The first ‌game ​is scheduled to ⁠begin at 1:10 ⁠p.m. ET, while the second game will start at 7:15 p.m.

The Cardinals have yet to announce ​a Game 1 starter, while right-hander Chris Paddack (0-5, 7.07 ERA) ⁠is slated to ⁠start for the Reds, ​per MLB.com. In the nightcap, right-handers ​Andre Pallante (4-4, 4.04) of St. Louis ‌and Chase Petty (0-0, 4.76) of Cincinnati are scheduled to take the mound.

St. Louis is starting ⁠a six-game road trip after losing two of three to the Pittsburgh Pirates, including ⁠a ‌6-2 defeat on Thursday. ⁠The Cardinals are 15-8 ​away ‌from Busch Stadium this ​season.

Cincinnati ended ⁠the month of April atop the National League Central standings with a 20-11 record before losing 13 of its next 19 games.
