White Sox acquire LHP Joe Rock from Rays

The Chicago White Sox acquired left-hander Joe Rock in a trade with Tampa ​Bay on Tuesday, sending ‌infielder Oliver Dunn to the Rays in the deal.

The White Sox assigned Rock to Triple-A Charlotte upon the ‌transaction’s ​completion. They also ⁠moved catcher Kyle ⁠Teel, who has a sprained right knee ligament, to the 60-day injured list to make ​room for Rock on the 40-man roster.

Rock, 25, made ⁠his major league ⁠debut last June, posting ​a 2.35 ERA over seven ​innings across three relief appearances for ‌the Rays. He was 1-1 with one save and a 5.40 ERA over 13 ⁠games this season for Triple-A Durham.

Dunn, 28, appeared in 55 games for the ⁠Milwaukee ‌Brewers across the 2024 ⁠and ’25 seasons, hitting .206 with ​a ‌homer and 13 RBIs. ​He batted .296 ⁠with eight homers and 33 RBIs in 40 games for the Triple-A Charlotte in the White Sox’s organization this season.
