Pernod CFO says talks with Brown-Forman are “ongoing”

PARIS, April 16 (Reuters) – Pernod Ricard’s talks to ​merge with ‌U.S. rival Brown-Forman are continuing, Pernod Ricard’s finance ‌chief ​said on ⁠Thursday.

Helene de ⁠Tissot told a conference call with analysts that ​talks are “ongoing”, adding the ⁠company does ⁠not intend ​to communicate further.

U.S. ​spirits group Sazerac has ‌also offered to buy Brown-Forman for about $15 ⁠billion, a source familiar with the matter ⁠said ‌on Wednesday, ⁠complicating Pernod ​Ricard’s ‌attempt to ​merge with ⁠the Jack Daniel’s maker.
