Thunder’s Ajay Mitchell, Wizards’ Justin Champagnie suspended for brawl

For their roles in an altercation during the Wizards-Thunder game on ​Saturday night, Washington’s ‌Justin Champagnie and Oklahoma City’s Ajay Mitchell were suspended one game without pay for ‌fighting, ​the NBA ⁠announced on Sunday.

Champagnie ⁠will sit out Sunday night’s road game against the New York Knicks. Mitchell ​will serve his suspension Monday when the ⁠Thunder visit ⁠the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Thunder’s ​Jaylin Williams was fined $50,000, ​while teammate Cason Wallace and ‌the Wizards’ Anthony Gill received $35,000 fines for their roles in the incident.

Mitchell, ⁠Williams and Wallace, along with Champagnie, received technical fouls and ⁠were ‌ejected from the ⁠game, a 132-111 road ​victory ‌for Oklahoma City. ​The altercation ⁠occurred late in the first half and spilled over into the stands before order was restored.
