Argentina’s Senate passes penal reform bill

BUENOS AIRES, Feb 27 (Reuters) – Argentina’s Senate on ​Friday approved ‌a penal reform that would lower the ‌age ​of criminal ⁠responsibility from ⁠16 to 14.

The measure was passed with 44 ​votes in favor, 27 ⁠against, ⁠and one ​abstention.

The bill, backed ​by President Javier Milei, ‌is among several reforms the libertarian ⁠president has been hoping to pass ⁠through ‌Congress, which ⁠on Friday ​was ‌also set to ​debate ⁠his controversial labor reform.
