TAIPEI, Feb 5 (Reuters) – ASE Technology Holding, the world’s largest chip packaging and ‍testing provider, said on Thursday that it expects its advanced packaging business to double in size to $3.2 billion in 2026.

ASE Chief Operating Officer Tien ‌Wu made the comment ‌on a conference call following its quarterly earnings, which saw it report fourth-quarter revenue of T$177.9 billion ($5.62 billion), up 9.6% from a year earlier. It booked a 58% rise ‍in net income.

The holding company’s subsidiary Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) is a major packaging supplier ‍for Nvidia’s AI chips.

Chief Financial Officer Joseph Tung said the company plans to add another $1.5 billion in machinery capital expenditure this year ‍on top of last year’s $3.4 billion, while investment in buildings and facilities is ‍expected ‍to be at a similar level to last year’s $2.1 billion.

“We will remain aggressive in capex ‌spending to support the strong business prospects for 2026 and beyond,” said Tung.
