Design software maker Autodesk to lay off about 7% of global workforce

Jan 22 (Reuters) – Design software maker Autodesk said ‍on Thursday it would lay off about 7% of its workforce ‌globally, or ‌roughly 1,000 employees, with a major portion of the reductions occurring ​within its customer-facing sales functions.

Shares ‍of ​the company rose ​nearly 4% in ‍premarket trading.

The company, which had about 15,300 employees as of January ‍31, 2025, said it expects to complete ‍the ‍restructuring plan ​by the ​end ⁠of its fourth ‌quarter of fiscal 2027.
