BEIJING, Jan 14 (Reuters) – Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng is ‍targeting sales of 550,000-600,000 vehicles this year, Chinese tech portal 36Kr reported on Wednesday, ‌citing a recent ‌internal strategy meeting.

That would translate into around a 28-40% increase from its sales last year, when the automaker ‍delivered 429,445 cars, up 126% from 2024.

A company source ‍confirmed the 36Kr report.

The Volkswagen-backed EV maker earlier in January touted a pivot toward “physical ‍AI” from being purely a carmaker, as it ‍gears ‍up to start street trials of robotaxis and volume production ‌of human robots later this year.
