SAO PAULO, Jan 9 (Reuters) – Brazilian healthcare firm Oncoclinicas said on Friday it was at an advanced stage in the process of selecting a new chief executive, but did not give any details of potential candidates.
The company was responding to a report published on Thursday by news outlet Brazil Journal, which said it was in advanced talks to appoint Irlau Machado as its next CEO.
Machado, former co-CEO of Hapvida, would replace Bruno Ferrari, who would become chairman, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Oncoclinicas said in a securities filing it has hired consulting firm Spencer Stuart to help identify potential candidates for the CEO role.
The company said no decision had been made and that its board of directors had not approved any change to its leadership.
