WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Thursday picked Ashley Moody, the state’s attorney general, to replace Senator Marco Rubio when he leaves his office to become the next U.S. Secretary of State.
Rubio was picked by Trump to serve as the top U.S. diplomat. Rubio is expected to resign as senator when Trump takes office on Jan. 20.
